Bangkok (23rd - 27th Oct)

Finally the boyfriend and I made our long awaited trip to Bangkok!
Day 1: Woke up really early and boyfriend's dad drove us to the airport. Had Macdonalds breakfast there and bought some macarons to accompany us on the flight hehehe!

We touched down in bkk at about 10am (bkk time) if I remembered correctly! Took a cab to our hotel, The Residence Rajtaevee, which was about 45 mins to a hour ride, and checked in to our hotel! It was better than I expected, stayed there during my previous trip and it wasn't as fantastic, this time round though, I think they may have done a renovation! Everything looks pretty new!

A look of the hotel room, really clean and spacious, with a "see through" toilet, I'm guessing it's for people to watch tv whilst taking a dump, at least that's what we did!
Changed from shoes to slippers, then took a 10 mins walk to the Bangkok must go to fashion mall, Platinum! Basically we just come out of our hotel, turn right, and turn right again when you see a 7-11 at the corner and walk all the way straight.
Headed straight up to the last level of platinum, to fill our tummies from the 2 hours 30 mins flight there at the food court. Our first meal, of course, was Phad Thai! What's Thailand without having Phad Thai!

Yum yum yum hehe! It wasn't too bad, but I suppose when you're on a holiday, everything isn't really that bad even it is! We then combed through every level starting from the top floors all the way down. I wasn't that into shopping, because I was merely there for the food and to spend some quality time with the boyfriend, thus I didn't really looted much back, oh well. After reaching the ground level, we proceeded to the second Platinum, just beside each other. There really wasn't much there compared to the first Platinum so we left shortly back to our hotel.
After taking a short rest, the boyfriend and I decided that we should walk over to Siam Paragon and check it out. In order to get there, all you have to do is to exit the hotel, instead of turning right to go to Platinum, you turn left, walk all the way straight, across the river, and follow the road past a hotel, and then cross a small road. Really convenient huh! Siam Paragon is more of the atas mall housing branded brands such as Chanel, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs etc. As tourists on a budget, obviously the top floors wasn't suitable for us, what we kept going back for, was the food court and food stalls situated there! Food there is not exactly any more expensive compared to the other food court just cause it's Siam Paragon, and they have all types of cuisines there! Western all the way to Japanese, and even Garett's (which we couldn't help buying!) We had our dinner there and then headed back to our hotel for an early night to prepare us for the busy days we had ahead! We fell asleep easily as we both didn't get much rest the night before and had to wake up early to catch our flight.

Day 2: We (or I) woke up at 11 (we had our alarms set to 11 for everyday we were there), and took a shower, put on some make up, before waking the lazy ass boyfriend up to prepare. Left the hotel and walked to Siam Paragon as the nearest BTS, Siam Square, was located nearby. We went to the food court to fill our little tummies first and then headed off to Terminal 21 for some shopping! The boyfee bought two shirts there, one for himself and the other for Daniel, and as well as The Face Shop nose strip for ourselves! It's not as easy on the wallet buying clothing there for girls as the clothing there were pretty expensive, if not, REALLY EXPENSIVE. I saw a dress retailing at about SGD$100 and I really couldn't believe it, all things aside, the material was really good, but come on, $100 for a dress is like day light extortion from a brand less shop!
After finishing Terminal 21, we took the train to Chinatown to take a look. Initially, we just wanted to head straight there, but we saw on our itinerary that the Golden Buddha, which we were heading there the next day, was just minutes walk from Chinatown, and decided that we might as well go there first. We met a really jolly and nice Singaporean lady there, who was on a trip there to accompany her husband, that led us to the Golden Buddha or not we would have been lost. Nothing much there, you have to pay to see the Golden Buddha, and ladies, remember to be wearing a shirt with sleeves and jeans there as I had to rent shawls to cover my arms and legs for 20 baht. Forget the 20 baht, but it was just really embarrassing. After which we headed to Chinatown. When we were there, Bangkok was holding some nation wide vegetarian food festival and lining the streets of Chinatown was vegetarian food stalls. Didn't buy anything except a bottle of water as the food didn't really appeal to us. We then walked back to the train station and took the BTS to the Banyan Tree Resort, for the most iconic bar in Bangkok, the Moon Bar. Situated on the 61st level of the building, you have to take the lift to the 59th level and climb up. It's a bar without a roof therefore, be sure to go only when it's not raining.

Here's a picture of the view, simply stunning.

And our drinks, first up, the mojito, and the second, the bar's signature, Vertigo Sunset.

Drinks were pretty meh, costing us about 1200 baht in total which was really steep given their drinks standards, but the skyline of Bangkok made up for it.
After a great night out, we headed back to our hotel, and rested our tired bodies.

Day 3: So since we completed our to-do list to visit the Golden Buddha the day before, we headed to MBK mall, a mall well known for people who wants to "zhng" their phones. Prior to that, we booked our tickets to the Calypso Lady-boy show at Asiatique the night before at our hotel. After shopping around for a bit, we settled down to have our lunch at a ramen store. I calculated that two bowls of pretty average ramen and water only cost us about SGD$7? It was really cheap.
Finishing MBK mall, same strategy, starting from the top floors all the way down, we left for Asiatique. We had to take a BTS to a station, alight and walk to the ferry terminal for a free 15 mins ferry ride there. We had a really good dinner at one of the Korean dining there. I had their cold noodles which I'm really craving for now, at this ungodly hour.

Let me show you:
My cold ramen.

The boyfriend's kimchi rice.

And an alcoholic drink, Soju.

After dinner, we headed in for the lady boy show at 8.15pm, which was pretty entertaining, and I would really suggest making a trip to Asiatique for it. Reached our hotel pretty late, and decided to blow dry my hair but I was too lazy so I got the boyfriend to do it for me, and guess what. He got my hair caught in the hair dryer. Had to cut it off with a pen knife. Luckily it was just a few strands or else I would have really killed him.

Day 4: We headed out for brunch at Siam Paragon, had this really good fishball tomyum glass noodles! Then went to Pandora in the departmental store and bought an elephant charm for my bracelet!

Can't really capture the charm on my camera so I searched the web for a professionally taken picture.

We pretty much finished everything we wanted to do except for Chocolate Ville later in the early evening, so we went to the rest of the shopping malls in the area doing nothing in particular.

Had this Hokkaido green tea milk that was really good.

Headed back to our hotel late afternoon and took a cab, about 45 mins to a hour to Chocolate Ville, basically an entire restaurant, occupying an entire "park." The place was great and apart from the distance, it was a really nice place to go.
We had our dinner there, I had carbonara and the boyfriend had steak, with baked potato skin as our side.

I'll let the pictures do the talking.
My carbonara. Tasted really great, but my appetite wasn't there because I wasn't feeling that well or I would have enjoyed it more.

Boyfee's steak, not sure was it good or not as I don't eat steak, but I had his vegetables though.

And our baked potato skin! Which was really pricey, the price of my carbonara.

Took a cab back after dinner as I wasn't feeling that good to stay any longer. Never felt so happy being back in the comfort of my hotel.

Day 5: Woke up really early that morning to head over to Chatuchak as we had to be back earlier for our flight that evening. Took the BTS there and had really disgusting fishball noodles there, and walked around for a bit before realizing there wasn't anything much that early in the morning so we took a cab back to Platinum to do more shopping! Shopped around for a bit and then headed upstairs to a Japanese restaurant on the level of the food court and had really good lunch since breakfast was not filling and my appetite was back. We bought pork floss crackers for everybody and headed back to our hotel to check out and cab to the airport. My pen knife I carried with me on overseas trip was confiscated at the departure and it upset me quite a bit, but I was cheered up by my favorite TWG macarons we purchased at the airport!

Yums!

Slept all the way on the flight back and only ate a macaron when we were landing to try to lessen the pressure in my ears. Touched down and boyfriend's dad came to pick us up to boyfriend's place.
Had a really great trip and I hope I'll be able to go back soon. That's all for now!

Pandora Journey

Hannar it's about my Pandora bracelet la!! Hahaha, but before that, I have news to share with my readers. If you don't already know, I'm moving to Melbourne for college and university next month, yes, March. My thoughts on the move? Honestly? I don't wanna move. Again, I'm on this roller coaster called Feelings. I got into NYP (Nanyang Polytechnic) Food Science & Nutrition, it's again, everything I wanted/was working for, but here I am, flying off to Melbourne the next month. Life is really uncertain isn't it?

Enough said, back to my Pandora journey! Remember back then? When I was soooo excited about my Pandora bracelet with only a safety chain and ONE charm? Yeah I had a blog post on that hahaha, read it to see how elated I was.

I started from...

And slowly to...

Then...
Progressing really slowly ain't I!

And then...
(Charms added from my birthday presents!)

More presents...

And finally!
Right now! Hahaha!

I'm gonna start following a royal blue theme because blue is my recent favorite color! And I absolutely love it. It's not yet filled up but it would be soon! You know I ain't stopping till I'm done! There's a little mixture of red and salmon pink but I don't think it'll matter I'll make the blue stand out as much as possible!
That's all for now! I just wanted to update this space and break the news solved with something more enlightening, so there! I've done it. I'll talk more on the move to Melbourne as soon as everything is finalize alright!

Till then!
XOXO

HongKong

As you can tell from the title, I'm going to HongKong this year woohoo!! This trip was planned like way before hand. We booked our flight and hotel accommodation before i even sat for my Os hahaha! I'll be going with Melvin and four other friends from his side, and honestly, i'm feeling so hyped about the trip though there's still about 2 months plus hahaha.
It was pretty cheap when we booked it, all in all about $420 per person for 6D5N. Of course we had to cut down on some spending like booking 2 hotel rooms instead of 3 as there's only a queen bed in each room and flying budget instead but i guess all that matters is we enjoy ourselves.
It'll be the 3rd time i have been in HongKong but it doesn't matter i love that place. Have yet to save for the trip (whoopsie i better start soon!) because right now its my holidays and i took on a few jobs (not currently) and i'm not taking any allowance from my parents.
On this topic, i hope i can be self-sustainable for as long as possible because i really like the feeling of being independent. I am more motivated to save because i worked for the money, it's different from getting money from my parents.
Recently i've been enjoying life a lot, post-exams i have the freedom to do everything i want, and i am the most relax i've been prior to my Os hahaha. I still have yet to plan a trip with my bestie due to financial reasons (both of us!) but i'll see to it soon hahaha. We dont have to go anywhere expensive but just taking a short vacation, just us, and enjoying the last trip we'll probably have together.

As i'm typing this post i'm talking to my secondary school absolute best friend, Maria, like finally!!!! I've missed her soooo so much. At least we've met up a couple of times last year for lunch and movie dates! Hehehe i hope to see more of my clique this year (this can be a new year's resolution right?) and spend more time with them.

Aites, i'm off for dinner. I'll find time to catch up on my days alrights!
Signing off,
JY Hee

2013

Hi guys!!!
Here's a recap of my best year, 2013.

In the beginning of the year i went on my 2nd trip with bestie to KL, the 1st being Legoland. We went for 2D1N and it was simply a great experience just being the two of us and doing what we do best, having fun hehehe.
(Our confirmation letter from the travel agency!)

This year was great despite the fact that bestie had moved on to poly and i had to survive secondary 5 on my own. But i made it thats all that matters. I made it through a rough year, i made it through my O levels and I made it through independently. (: It wasn't easy, to be honest, but i had to get use to the fact that the people i'm comfortable with would not be with me 24/7 and i had to learn to be on my own. The year was a great experience for me to open up and i must say i really made quite a few friends, some of which i have already considered my second-to-be good friends. (Of course nobody would beat Johanna in that position!)
In February i learnt a new sport from one of my good friend, POOL!!! Hahaha i really enjoy playing it and i feel like its actually a hobby i can really stick to. I still suck at it totally but it helped me through 2013 as it relieved the stress i had from school. Every time i stepped through the doors of punggol billiard i feel as if i was burden free, and i drop everything, and just focus on having fun. I know it sounds crazy but everyone has their own ways to deal with the stress right? I'm slowly getting better though, but i do feel that pool is an expensive sport and given my status as a student i shouldn't be spending so much on it, but i just can't, I JUST CAN'T, turn down an invitation to pool hahaha.
(Pool session~)

In 2013 on the 30th of April i also got together with my current boyfee (which marks the 8th month we have been together already,) and we're still going pretty strong. There are arguments and things we disagree about especially now when our lifestyles are completely different but we've worked things out. It took me some time to have built the trust in him to allow him to freely go about his job, it seems to many that i dont care, or vice versa, he doesn't care, about what the other half is doing, like going to clubs and all but i know that we're serious and neither of us would want to ruin this relationship by doing something we're not suppose to. He knows that i do really love him, and sometimes i really wonder how on earth did i get so attached to someone. I believe in us and i know we will make this relationship work.
In June i went to Gentings with my boyfee and it was an experience (not really good) but it wasn't too bad. The place was stuffy and there were barely much things to do there except the theme park (which sucks) and shopping.
(Our couple sneakers for our trip! And many moreeee!)

Few days before the trip i went on another KL trip with my bestie and we had so much fun, exploring new places like the Central Market and Time Square hahaha. It was so much fun.
(Us at the haunted house at the Time Square Theme Park!)

The trips this year had REALLY burnt a hole in my pocket given that i was studying and didn't have a job (mainly due to the fact it was my O levels year) but it was an experience, not just any experience, it was a growing experience, for me to be able to travel independently, in a sense i didnt have my parents or any adults, it taught me to manage my finances, our well-being (safety, health etc.) and it was looking at the world with a different view, therefore i won't hesitate to agree it was money well-spent!
Last year was a mixture of the good and bad, the good being meeting my significant other, surviving through the tough time of preparation for my Os (the intensive, the extra hours after school, the amount of work) it really impacted me in a good way. I feel stronger than i was back then sitting for my Ns. My tolerance level for work and the ability to prioritize my stuff this year has helped me through it. It was really stressful and tough, some days i feel like just zone-ing out and sleep through the day but i knew i had to focus. I admit i wasn't all hardworking, I played hard too. I established a lot of new friends and i feel like i'm finally moving on from my past. I could have been a little more studious but i mean like i gotta have some time out as well right?
Before i knew it, the days till graduation was nearing so quickly, (we graduate before sitting for our Os.) Even though it was heart breaking leaving and moving on from St Margaret's, but i couldn't have been any happier. It meant that i survived the dog days from secondary school, the hard core curriculum, and the strict regulations there. It was a big milestone for me. I felt a burst of happiness and a sense of pride as i left the school gates that very day. It was one of the days i felt genuinely happy in the entire year and i'll never be able to forget that feeling.

I just float through the days of O levels. It passed me like a breeze and no, i'm not saying it was an easy feat, but i'm saying i kind of detached myself from it? Like i just want to be over and done, i know this sounds really bad but i just felt sooooo sick of O levels at that time.
(My O levels entry proof...)

Fast forward to the day i was done with my Os, (the last paper was science MCQ,) we, Mehaffey and i, headed to far east to do our gelish which was awesome and the next day i proceeded to dip dye my hair red. Hahahaha, RED. I loved it, but the color eventually faded to golden brown and it still is golden brown now and i suppose i'll be dying it back to red again one of these days.

We had our class chalet at Home Team NS in November, the place was so huge, its a bungalow styled place, with 4 bedrooms and 8 beds, and we were the only chalet occupied among the 10 over bungalows there. It was freaky, Melvin came to pick me (by car) and he told me it was really scary driving past 10 odd empty and dark houses even though it was only 11plus at night.
Following that chalet, about a week or two later i was invited to a chalet at Pasir Ris hosted by my St Andrew friends and it was really fun i must say. Around 2plus 3 in the morning we walked to the mangrove swamp located at the Pasir Ris park and went in. The place was pitch black except for the torchlights from our phones and it really scared me, if it wasn't for the group of 9 i wouldn't have entered that secluded and supposedly haunted place hahaha.
(My second baby girl, Meha!)

Not to forget my trip to batam with the naughty boy hahaha! It was a birthday pressie from me for him! It was a good experience, we took a ferry there, for about an hour, then cab to our hotel, Novotel, which superior room was super huge with a huge ass balcony hahahaa. The j.co there, was so cheap, about $3 for 6 yummy donuts hahaha. We went for a weekend trip, and I enjoyed it!
(The first thing he did was to sprawl himself on the bed!)
(J.CO!!)

After my Os, (or actually the time between my last written paper and MCQ paper,) i worked as a backstage crew for props at RWS Sentosa and it was a great experience being able to be part of a play, Lightseeker, even though reviews were not that fantastic afterall.
(Our entry passes!)
(Tired faces at work!)

And then after my Os i worked for a period of time at Sentosa's PLAYcation event managing an art and craft booth. The job had it's ups and downs but i really enjoyed working with my existing friends and the new friends i made there!
(Lepak during work!)
(A good shot of the ambience at Imbiah during the evening!)

In December i also celebrated my 17th birthday which was rather eventful, I'm thankful for everyone who made and effort to turn up especially my family, i had a great one! Not to mention the good time i had having steamboat buffet for brunch with my good friend Quek at Clementi!
(Our first round of orders, many more to come after that!)
(#cake1)
(#cake2 #bakedbybestie)

On the 23rd/24th December i also went for an underage event with an awesome bunch of friends consisting of my colleagues from my PLAYcation event at Club Toxic. It was eventful as well as we met with some of the people that were left behind from my past (and they're still stuck there) but given the 30 odd people we knew at the club including my St Andrew friend, (it was a surprise seeing ya there and i'm sorry i couldn't recognize you hahaha, duh, with that golden close to white blonde hair!) the winner was evident.
(Part of the group // Best group shot!)
(Another group shot!)
(Yay Carlsberg's photobooth!)

As usual we had our Christmas gift exchange, that being our annual routine, on the 24th and it was enjoyable too.
I chose jk's present again!!! A leather wallet thing. Look at my priceless facial expression credits to jm.
("Ohhh no what an awful present!!!")

I "celebrated" my new years being surrounded by Carlsberg and Tiger beer hahaha because i was working at the float @ marina, oh well, the pay was good hahaha.
(Featuring Marina Bay Sands lol!)

Nope i do not have any New Year Resolutions because i'm simply that unmotivated right now lol, but i hope this year i'll be a better person i was today, and be the worst i'll ever be yesterday.

(Also i did my eyelash extensions if you noticed hehehe!)

Thank you everybody who had made my year, whether it was good or bad. Let's leave the past and live the present, here's to brighter futures.
(Photos and Polaroids from 2013, thank you everybody who made a difference.)

That's all folks, enjoy your year ahead.
Cheers till then. XOXO
